Seven Lions has definitely been one the most impressive up and comers I’ve seen in the bass scene the past few months. So it’s not much of a surprise that the California producer got nabbed up pretty quickly for a record release by the folks over at OWSLA. However, this new release, the Days to Come EP, shows a side of Seven Lions that I have yet to be introduced to. While the release is certainly still solid, I was ultimately disappointed with the over presence of influence of electro house on the tracks. I prefer the dubstep that this man producers, but admittedly, it’s good to see artists trying new things, and in fairness, there is still a clear representation of dubstep as well. That being said, the final track, “She Was” shows a glitch-hop element that is absolutely mind-blowing (and dare I say, reminds me somewhat of Tipper?) That might be a bold statement, but nonetheless, it’s easily my favorite and the most unique track off this release. You can stream the full thing below completely free for your listening pleasure! Enjoy!
Plus to be sure to catch Seven Lions at the Philadelphia stop of the OWSLA Tour (click for full tour dates), also featuring Kill the Noise, Birdy Nam Nam and MONSTA at The TLA on Sunday, November 18th!!
