Opiuo is undoubtedly, in my mind at least, one of the most versatile and unique bass acts on the circuit at the moment. After just from a North American tour with VibeSquaD– who also just released some new material– the Australian producer released the third installment in his Butternut Slap EP series. Opiuo is simply excellent at using varying time signatures to create extremely interesting break-beat tempos and rhythms, which is a large part of what makes this release so great. But not only that, he also has some of the most complex composition, and the utilization of actual instruments shows through so effectively in his sound.
