It’s been a bit of a bother on my mind that a lot of glitch-hop and otherwise progressive electronic producers don’t see very much representation and support on the East Coast. It seems as though that’s all about to change. Last year, FarmFest broke it’s way into the scene with an amazing first year, featuring a lineup of some of the West’s best, including Phutureprimitive and Unlimited Gravity.
This year, the festival is really turning on the back-burners, amping up their lineup and turning the festival into more than just your run-of-the-mill music festival. FarmFest 2014 boasts an incredible lineup, bringing back Phutureprimitive and Unlimited Gravity, as well as a slew of other incredible progressive producers- EOTO, Random Rab, Bluetech and Andreilien just to name a few. On top of that, they’re taking the electronic experience to a whole other level, bringing in a plethora of acts that not only give off masterful production, but also beautiful instrumental performances- see Papadosio, Cosby Sweater, ProJect Aspect and Govinda.
But wait, the list goes on. Yeah it does, I did not stutter. This year the festival will not just give its fans plenty of beautiful music to fill the day, but it also features an arsenal of workshops, inspirational speakers and visual artists. The event aims to characterize itself as “transformational” festival, hoping to not only instill fun times in its festival-goers, but also insight into how we can continue to stabilize and improve our planet.
One of the greatest things for us is seeing not only this jaw-dropping lineup of headliners, but a massive push of support to many local artists Funkadelphia has been throwing their weight behind. So for our Northeast fans, be sure to also keep your eyes out for such acts as Space Jesus, Face Plant and Sexy Black Female.
We hope to see you there!
