Last week we shared a new track from Liquid Stranger that delved into the realms of deep dub and downtempo, exemplifying a side of the producer that is rarely exhibited in his live performances. This week I have another track, from another US producer, in the same sentiment. “The Secret Garden” is the newest single from Cyberoptics, once again utilizing the darker and more laid-back rhythms of old school dub to construct a journey into downtempo bass sound. Incidentally, while Liquid Stranger performed his first downtempo set at last year’s Infrasound Music Festival, Cyberoptics will be taking the stage at Infrasound 2014 to also feed us two sets of bass, one being his first ever downtempo set. Amongst a slew of previews released through his soundcloud, Cyberoptics has shown that aside from his more notorious, relentless bass tremors, he has the ability to do much more with his production. “The Secret Garden” is the first full dowtempo release from the Memphis producer, but join us at Infrasound this June to see all that Cyberoptics can really do. This also sets the stage for already musically diverse label Play Me Records.
