The mighty force that is Kill Paris has been on an absolute rampage lately. After a slew of festival appearances last Summer, the Boulder (Colorado) DJ and producer embarked on a national tour to further show the people just how talented he is. I was lucky enough to catch him this past Fall at City Bisco, where he had an early set, but still managed to pull in a great crowd. Not a single person’s feet stopped moving that entire hour as Kill Paris bombarded us with groovy tunes on groovy tunes. Not only is his own production packed with funk, but he’s also got quite a few amazing tracks hidden away on his hard drive, making him a must see.
Finally off the road, Kill Paris turned his focus to the studio. After the announcement of a new EP, we now have four funky, bassy new tracks, the result of that time spent in the studio. The Foreplay EP is melodic, but it bumps. It’s full of groovy instrumental samples, but also plenty of heart-tugging synth work. This EP is nothing but fun and laughter put into music.
