A little over a year ago, front-woman for American folk trio Mountain Man, Amelia Meath, crossed paths with electronic producer Nick Sanborn (Made of Oak) and asked him for his take on one of her new tracks, “Play it Right”. After remixing the song, the two agreed there was much more chemistry to be had between them, and the project Sylvan Esso was born. After making the move to Durham, North Carolina, the duo began working on songs for their self-titled debut album, which I am pleased to present to you today! With Meath’s powerful yet soothing pop vocals and Sanborn’s eclectic production, Sylvan Esso has a little something for everyone. With songs like “Dreamy Bruises” which carries more of a synth pop revival vibe, to the chiller “Coffee”, you can be sure to find something to suit your fancy on this freshman album.
