Gravitas Recordings releases their new “Beat ALS Vol. 1” compilation today in support of ALS research. The compilation was released in conjunction with Every90Minutes, a non-profit “dedicated to funding ALS research through music and events”.
Gravitas has become a steady source of quality eardrum material. The Austin, Texas based label is home to a wide range of incredible artists from across the electronic music spectrum. Psymbionic, ill-esha, Minnesota, D.V.S*, Skytree and Zebbler Encanti Experience are just a few artists with releases on the label.
The new compilation features 16 tracks, all curated by Gravitas Recordings and Every90Minutes. Artists featured on the release include multiple Gravitas regulars, but also plenty of special guests, including Bassnectar, Eliot Lipp, Nicolas Jaar, ill.Gates, Matthew Dear and Machinedrum.
With such an eclectic compilation of artists, the album’s sound is versatile to say the least. “Beat ALS Vol. 1” showcases styles ranging from glitchy bass tunes, to heavily organic minimal tracks, to experimental funky grooves.
