Play Me Records – Space Bass | FREE Compilation Album feat. Cyberoptics, J. Rabbit, Reid Speed, Nostalgia & More

Play Me - Space Bass

by Kyle Taylor |

It was truly a precarious task trying to balance time spent between celebrating the holidays with family and friends and keeping up with all the insanely awesome- not to mention, FREE- new music that came out this week. Play Me Records is another name on the list of gracious givers this Winter. The label came together to deliver a fresh new compilation album from some of its finest contributors, including Play Me Records owner Reid Speed, as well as Cyberoptics, J.Rabbit, Nostalgia, Eliminate, Jarvis and Tisoki. Each producer gave up an exclusive new track for the release.

Interestingly, with such an eclectic group of producers, the album finds an even flow rather quickly. The sound is all in the name: Space Bass. Each producer holds their own with some really deep, dark waves of bass, delivering a unique dose of ambient noise and dub-based drum patterns. For some of these producers, this sound is very much not their typical approach to the bass game, yet the results are absolutely stunning beginning to end.
