Lush soundscapes and environments will encapsulate any listener of this deeply percussive piece as it begins to take shape through a wide field of melodic rhythm. As the single, “i don’t like the sky”, begins to break down, its primary theme is exposed and the environment accents that very aspect with incredible delicacy. At the point where bean boy allows the listener to finally believe one is being led to the end of the piece, the young producer then unleashes his experimental sound design and introduces ugliness to an otherwise peaceful track, doing so in the best of ways.
The debut single from bean boy’s upcoming freshman release, untitled, is an excellent introduction to what the artist and project will bring to the table. The Seattle-based producer has developed a collection of experimental pieces all tied together through a common theme of progression and entrancement. After several cohesive listens, one still can not seem to get enough. Expect big things from the name bean boy and do not miss the release of untitled, coming February 13th only on Funkadelphia Recordings.
