This past weekend’s festivities at Madison Square Garden left thousands of grinning bass heads wandering the streets of New York City after the king of the sound slayed the arena. But the night was young, and there was plenty more fun still to be had. So like many others, we made our way to Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn for the Russ Liquid show, which carried the evening all the way until 4AM.

The room was already packed when we arrived, plenty of people scrambling for the opportunity to get into the intimate venue. The audience was already in a great mood from plenty of funky grooves from both Wink and Brooklyn’s own Narkatta. Once Russ took the stage though, things took a serious turn. Bringing a variety of atmospheric beats, the west coast musician furthered the exuberance of his performance with live trumpet and keyboard as usual. His energy and enthusiasm on the stage created the perfect environment to keep the evening alive.

The night was then carried to an end by another New York local, Brightside. Coming off an incredible summer of touring and a brand new EP, Brightside filled the small room with an array of ambient bass and thick rhythms. Patrons also enjoyed a display of live painting, featuring multiple artists from the area.
